Biog So there I was on stage at the Albert Hall. The last time I’d felt this excited and nervous I was dusting my car’s dashboard with a cloth that promised to help me ‘Wave goodbye to dusty dashboard misery.’ I strolled over to the other guitarist in the band and said, “I always thought if I ever played at the Albert Hall I’d at least be slightly nervous.” He pointed out that if I were playing my own songs I would be. Good point. When I realised I was getting more worked up about dropping one of my own songs into my set in the local bar with no one listening, than playing covers to a capacity crowd of people from the finance industry collecting awards at the Albert Hall, it dawned on me what it was I should be doing. So I’ve stopped hiding the songs in the drawer in case someone tells me they don’t like them. At least I know the best way to get my gear into the Albert Hall in case I should ever get back there!
